scienceofuse is a new electronic music label from ljubljana, slovenia. its purpose is to transmit futuristic frequencies by using the science of creation to transcend percieved limitations. connecting the advances in our culture and technology with the important lessons of visionaries that came before us. the label s first release, -responsible design- by veteran dj and expert knob-twiddler known as electronic badminton king (e.b.king for short) is an acid-tinged affair with a darkish early noughties electro vibe on the a-side, while the flip delivers an abrasive technoid banger coupled with a deeper floating acid cut.

in 2006, tim arndt released the first near the parenthesis album “go out and see”. arndt had intended to follow up that release with a more beatless ambient album, where percussion was left to the side and composition took center stage. a shelved idea that we now get the benefit of a full ten years later. this new album helical is the realization of arndt s stripped down ambient concept. helical features arndt’s characteristic experimental modem classical instrumentation and compositional style, but slows things down and stretches them out. the focus on the organic is clear, but moments of ethereal breath weave in and out and prevent the album from becoming too self aware. helical, as a loose reference to the geometric structure of our very dna and it contains themes that are driven by a recent discovery of arndt’s past and ancestry. the release seamlessly stitches all of these concepts together and marks an unique release and new direction for arndt’s near the parenthesis.

supernature ep is the opening release of our new series. this time, the concept of a place different than earthly space is guiding arche into new and different shores, seeing what lies behind the horizon. since some time, prioleau - with his unique sound and personality - became more than just a good friend of arche. with his first ep he bring us to darker and rawer fields. the original feeling of this track was first experienced by most participants on a memorable weekend in the countryside.

skam records are very proud to release an album of unheard tracks from one of our very first artists and it feels good to have him back home. jega has always provided his own slant on the genre, with warm standout melodies and his always edgy solid beats driving it all. its good to hear his machines working again after all these years. jega returns with a selection of the year before his seminal first release (ska006). a collection of unreleased tracks from 1995, recorded live to cassette tape and dat, and gathered 20 years later to form 1995. this album provides a glimpse into the fledgling electronic music scene of the 90s.

in our brand new 12” vinyl release axel karakasis has produced the mouth-watering hashtag ep, for all those vinyl and techno lovers out there to enjoy a wild time on the dancefloor.
on the main side, the title track opens up in a bass-heavy, thumping tempo mode that evolves into a magnificent mixture of insane synth samples. the result is so refreshing and upbeat that you cannot get enough of it! happy monday completes the sequence on the side: the track provides an ultra-rhythmic counterpart with layers of textured presets and a voice sample that strikes out!

manchester s very own mr scruff and nyc crate digger ge-ology remix moscow s lay-far! now that s what we call a truly international release. it s kind of a dream release for us at local talk as both scruff and ge-ology have been on our we wanna get them on local talk plastic list for quite some time. starting off we find scruff going for a slight disco(ish) rub where analogue synths bumps around with a dark but musical basement feel...but still jazzy! on the flip our man ge-ology who is riding high on the hype from his release on theo parrish s sound signature label goes on a deep and spaced out electronic house venture that is so edgy it hurts. its that good good shit basically...enjoy!

ghosts/spirits is the result of many exorcism sessions, most of them performed unknowingly. the tracks are numbered based on their order of collection. ghosts are generally subtle and linger around more than spirits, which are said to go straight to your mind’s heart. whether you long for a naked dance in the forest, or a subaquatic journey through mermaids and sunken ships, you are welcome to indulge in our musical exorcism, in the name of the tribal forces which brought us rhythm, and the spiritual forces which brought us together. ah,… man

a1 nubian mindz - deep in raves: well known for his versatile and rich production, colin delivers once more. with a quite suitable name - deep in raves is just that. a deep plunge into dark and rave-like atmosphere. after a short intro layered with an ominous voice, massive bassline takes over and drives the track through the darkest curves. enriched with short percussions and a synth stab this is quite a stomper best experienced on a good club soundsystem, preferably in the dark. a2 volster - nebula: almost obsessed with audio purity, volster manages to combine new and modern sounds with old-school genre roots. nebula is all about complexity. although it is based on an electro foundations, it s so much more. space filled with an oscillatory synth motion perplexed with smooth pads that gives the impression of an interstellar properties. no detail is left unengaged, from the 808 that keeps everything in motion to the subtle amount of panning. this is a beautifully crafted story by a producer who is slowly but steadily growing into one of the best croatian artists. b1 lucretio - dracula: the most famed beard of cadoneghe/italy has pulled another magic gem from his music source. widely known for his relentless tendency to push the analogue spectrum to it s extreme, lucretio surprises once more with his ability to blend simple pieces into an effective sub storm with almost comic like features. dracula is not your conventional tune and it s pretty obvious why as soon as you put the needle on. broke down rhythm is heavily fueled by polished but enormous sub background with sparse and ¥in your face¥ shots. seemingly random notes take a gloomy and powerful form during the break and soon the lurky atmosphere comes into picture. this is truly brilliance in it s full simplicity. if only bram stoker could hear this, he would probably be both stunned and amused! b2 james booth - jxst do it: one of our goals on vakum is to be on a lookout for a new and promising talents. berlin based james booth surely fits the bill. jxst do it is a seriously crafted track with rich rhythmic section wrapped in a steady build up. after the initial break-beat intro sliced in short chunks, subtle 303 bassline takes over and the rhythmic game begins. booth delivers a perfectly timed cuts accompanied by a diverse palette of percussions. this is a perfect piece for those build up moments in the club..

2016 repress! as the old english phrase proclaims: good things comes to those who wait. sure these recordings from inner have been in our possession for quite a time now. but then again, why even worry? timeless art doesn t get antiquated - it just keeps on working. shadow hide the hunter!

celebrating our 20th release, glasgows dave clark returns to optimo trax as sparky. he was responsible for the third release on the label as luma which featured the club smash -john broadwood- and recently had another big club hit with signals- on numbers. we are delighted to welcome him back in what is a contunuation of a relationship that stretches back further than we care to remember. all four tracks here are certified dancefloor winners, from the reach for the lasers, kickless things fall apart through the synth rhapsodies of black swan and my prophet, climaxing in the jacking seven daggers. all killer, no filler is often a trite cliche in these blurbs but is entirely true in the case of this ep.

the analog beat-grinder from japan, miclodiet, is back on genesa records with his distinctive, gnarly sound. yasunobu usually releases his material on his own cassette-only label, sludge -tapes, but during the last 2 years, you were able to see him appear on genesa005v alongside joefarr, vsk & the label boss scalameriya or on our digital only division with a complete ep, remixed by martyn hare, alhek & forest people. for his debut vinyl ep, he prepared some stripped down, ultra minimalistic techno stompers infused with recognizable hooks and drones. an absolute must-have for dj’s who are searching for refreshments to add to their crate!

jun kamoda is a producer, dj and mc from tokyo. new to the label but a friend of the party, jun came to mister sunday in nyc last year and ended up hanging around for a few days afterward, digging for records and sharing bowls of spaghetti with the boys. when he returned to japan, he got to working on the music we now present to you on the clay ep. this is jun blending loopy, psychedelic disco stylings with chugging drum work for three party-ready cuts. they’ve been chopping up our dance floors months, we’re excited to hear them do the same to yours.

after cutting his teeth supporting berlin s keinemusik crew, fabian braunbeck branches off with his own original ep. moody & beautiful, its lush textures clearly show an artist who has paid attention while working with some of the industry s best, yet has a voice all his own, not to mention he s picked up a few tricks on the way. the ep s title track needs absolutely no introduction, just press play. we welcomed back our good friend ruede hagelstein to remix the a side and as the partyers at panorama bar would agree now for weeks on end it works!. the b-side is a much more percussive and moody affair, getting a remix from fellow berliner filburt who puts his own mark on the originals cornerstones.
